Internet Classes

Do you have the right computer skills?

You must be comfortable using a computer, using word processing software, sending emails, and accessing information on the Internet.

If you are a rookie at any of these skills, please take the Intro to Online Learning (CMAP 0910) course, an introductory computer course, or take a non-credit online course to strengthen your skills first.

To make sure the computer you plan to use for class has the necessary requirements, go to http://www.wwcc.wy.edu, choose, the Distance Education category, then click on the type of distance course in which you are enrolled. The last column of the table listing the classes shows whether there are specific requirements needed for that class.

Basic technical requirements for a class with internet are: Internet Access, Email account, MS Word 2000 or Higher, Antivirus Protection, IE 5.5 or Netscape 4.7 minimum, other software as noted by course.

Your instructor will contact you with instructions to begin your course using the email address that you are assigned when you enrolled. You will also find answers for many questions on the WWCC Distance Education web page (http://www.wwcc.wy.edu/dist_ed/default.htm), such as:

  • What Type of computer do I need?
  • Who do I ask if I have questions about a course?
  • Is specific software required? Where do I get it?
  • How much time will it take?

For current class listing go to http://www.wwcc.wy.edu/dist_ed/nt.htm
